The Haitian Academy is a private, coeducational, College Preparatory American school founded in New York, U.S.A. operating presently in Haiti. The Haitian Academy conducts two sections in the Classical school: one in English, the other one in French, Creole and English”, L’Institution d’Education de L’Academie Haitienne”, that follows the curriculum of the Ministry of National Education of Haiti. In the English Section, children are enrolled in Preschool (2, 3 and 4 years old), Elementary School (kindergarten – 6th grade), Middle School (7th, and 8th grades) and High School (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades). In the National Education Section, children are enrolled in Preschool (2, 3 and 4 years old), Elementary (1er and 2e cycle et 3e cycle Fondamentale), Middle School(7th, 8th, 9th year) and the Secondary ( 3e, 2nd, Rheto, Philo). The Haitian Academy is a non-profit organization, founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1979. Since 1991, our campus has been located 25km North of Port-Au-Prince on Route National #1. |
2010 Summer Camp
United Initiative for Peace (UIP) is hosting a weeklong camp for 100 girls on the campus of the Haitian Academy in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. The purpose of this camp is to bring joy and laughter to girls affected by the January 12th, 2010 earthquake. The camp aims to empower Haitian girls ranging from 9yrs to 16 yrs through new and exciting activities. Campers are given the unique opportunity of taking Arts & Crafts, Basketball, Dance, Photography, Soccer, and Volleyball classes. |
